Callie has done so well over the past two days that her doctors are talking about sending her home this weekend.
Her at-home bipap machine arrived at the hospital today. She will wear it tonight to make sure there are no issues.
We’re hoping Callie will continue to eat and drink more each day. We will discuss long-term nutritional issues and possible long-term bipap use when we follow up with her pulmonologist in a couple of weeks.
We’d like to thank my parents and sister for driving up for part of this week and this weekend to help with our boys. And we continue to be grateful for the love and support from so many people.
Hope things have continued to improve and you all are on your way home. Floyd and I are praying for you and will continue to do so in the days ahead. May God bless you and give encouragement, wisdom and strength during these days.
Make sure if you have home health coming with the bi pap that they are set up and straight. We got sent home from the hospital on a weekend and it was nightmare. Don’t want you guys having the same problem. We were sent from UNC-CH. Just make sure anything supposed to be in place (like home health) really is. We got home & realized they hadn’t clarified everything. Glad you are getting home. Praying for everyone.
What wonderful news! Hope things continue to improve and your family is back together soon. Sounds as though you have a wonderful support group. We can’t be there, but be assured we are there in our thoughts and prayers.
